Will be back to read and look more. Love the cat pictures. I only have 5 cats, but they were all rescues as well. I also have 2 dogs, recues, of course, and I love ALL animals.

Kovacs is a common Hungarian name, and we knew several Kovacs's. My maiden name was Szilak, which is a Hungarian name. Burgardt is my married name, and is German, of course.

What a nice blog you have here. Got to run and put stuff away for now. But I will be back as well.

Thanks again for visiting. I always enjoy making new bloggie friends, especially a cat/animal lover.

Midlife Mom said...: I am just horrified at the number of cats put down at the shelter in your area! That is just so sad, I could bawl. It's the ignorance of people that don't spay and neuter their pets and let them run wild that causes this over population of unwanted cats. I'm so glad you have taken in all of them that you have and they have a loving forever home!!!!

Just stopped over to see if you have an update, and have been reading some of your older posts. Read about Punky and Sweet Pea. I am almost afraid to ask how Punky is, and maybe somewhere in your archives you have answered that. You really do deserve many more than five stars. I am not strong emotionally, and just fall apart when animals are suffering.

My Grandma used to say...

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

The time to make friends is before you need them.

Kindness is the oil that takes the friction out of life.

Getting back on the right track usually involves getting out of a rut.

Age is not important unless you're a cheese.

Talk is the activity of the mouth. Listening is the activity of the heart.

Happiness is not getting what you want, but wanting what you have.

Elbow grease gives the best polish.

Never return a kindness...pass it on!

Memories are a family album filled with images and dreams.

Instead of putting others in their place, try putting yourself in their place.

The real measure of your wealth is how much you'd be worth if you lost all your money.

Bigger snacks mean bigger slacks.

Good, better, best. Never let it rest til good is better and the better best.

An apology is a good way to have the last word.

You can remember the past, but you can't live in it.

Better late than never, but never late is better.

If you're yearning for the good old days, just turn off the air conditioning.

Nothing...the best thing to buy when you want to save money.

The best gifts are tied with heartstrings.

You cannot do a kindness too soon, because you never know when it will be too late.

There are two lasting things we give our children...one is roots, the other is wings.

In the midst of everything, take time to love, laugh and play. Then life will be worth living, each and every day.
