Our Big Snow Day

We woke up to some 'white stuff' this morning! All day yesterday, the media was all excited about the big impending snow storm headed our way. They had predicted 2-4 inches. Well, this is what we got! LOL They were on the air at 4:30am this morning with updates! They said the brine trucks headed out at dusk last evening to spread salt water on the highways to help prevent them from freezing. There were 68 accidents in our county alone this morning! As you can see, not everyone headed out to work early.

It was a rather cold day here in 'Dixie,' though. And a cold night again tonight. This will probably be the extent of our winter here. We don't get snow all that often, but when the word 'snow' is even mentioned, people get all excited and head out to the grocery stores to stock up. They stated on TV that sleds were a big seller yesterday, too. Unfortunately, schools in our area were not closed today. I do wish we had gotten more snow for the kids' sake, as kids here don't get snow to play in all that often. Anyhow, this is the extent of our accumulation where I live. They are predicting areas of 'black ice' for the morning commute again tomorrow.

Now that is a nice way to get snow, a dusting and it is gone. We still have about 14 inches. It has been to cold to even melt any of it. Thanks for sharing the pictures of your snow.

Have a nice week.

I guess we would call that a "trace". We have had a pretty snowy winter up here. I am not hating it, but am ready to get out of it. Two weeks from Thursday and we will be on our way.

Hi Nancy,

Whoa, look at all that snow! LOL. Looks pretty on the barbecue grill. The forecast is already giving us a snow event warning for next Monday and Tuesday. We've had trace amounts or dustings as well. That I can handle. Any more than that I don't want. LOL. I am not in the south, technically, but am on the southern end of our state, and right on the border of Arkansas. We get freezing rain more often than snow, which is not a good thing either!

Beautiful pictures!

Hope all is well with you and the kitties. Have a wonderful week.

Hugs,

Renie

I wish our snow would melt the same day, we've still got snow from a week ago or longer. It just doesn't want to go away. Perhaps if the weather got a little warmer it might melt some.

I'll send you down some of our snow if you want! We have a TON of it! I walked down to the barn to feed barn kitty and it was up to my knees. Speaking of barn kitty, he is home, has had his operation, shots, ear mites attended to and is doing great! The vets office named him Thomas so I guess that will be it for now until I think of something I like better. It worked so well putting the blanket over the trap, he settled right down just like you said he would! Thanks! xoxox

Wow - no sympathy for "all that snow!"
Today it's 27 degrees and it's like a heat wave. 30 degrees warmer that last week. ouch.

We were just the opposite, they said "no accumulation" etc. and we got a good bit as you can see by my posted pics! My baby girl LOVED it (as did the dog). The cats - not so much!

Hi Nancy,

I tagged you for a game at my place. Play it if you'd like.

Have a great day!

Yes, Barnie is more then welcome to come live in the house anytime he wants to but for now he is just incredibly wild, I've never seen anything like it! My vet said that enclosed spaces must just freak him out but with time he should come around. I would much rather he lived here in the house with us to be spoiled and pampered like the other two. I'll be working at taming him. :o)

Any kind of that white stuff, be it a little 'skiff' or a blizzard is not for me!! Gimme sunshine and lollipops...rainbows and everything else. Leave the snow to the ones that actually LIKE it. LOL

Thanks for such a wonderful comment you left me today! Always love having you visit with me! Happy Tuesday.

It was darn cold and icy here this morning too. I heard there were lots of overturned cars on the freeway. Not good....

Hi Nancy!

I'm so sorry you've been laid up! It's so inconvenient to have these things we get isn't it?? We don't have time for it!! I've started to go to a pain mgmt dr for my fibromyalgia & I think he's going to help me. Oh how I need help! This winter has been sooo cold in Ohio, I need to be someplace a bit warmer.

Take good care of yourself sweetie! You'll get those pizzelles made sooner or later, they'll wait for you!

Big hugs, Sherry
